Talents:
- Napping: Being in the country of Alora, there are plenty of places to take a good cat nap. Being a cat, Somnus is prone to finding a quiet place to curl up and sleep. He's rather grumpy if he’s disturbed from his mandatory afternoon nap, unless it's an emergency.

- Flexibility: Being of the feline kind, he is naturally flexible, which can freak some people out, plus allows him to go "ninja" on people when he's being playful.

- Healing: I'm not talking about magic here, he's a very good nurse and does all he can to heal people. He always carries a medical bag with him in case of emergency.

Personality:
Somnus is a pretty easy going guy and it takes a lot to get him to hate someone. His feline nature makes him uncomfortable around Hellhounds, though he works hard to put work first; though if he hears one growling at him, his already fluffy tails will poof out even more. This nekomata likes to make sleep a priority and is not above climbing a tree to catch a catnap. The best advice is when Somnus goes missing is to look up, you're bound to find him eventually.

He's a rather finicky and vain creature. He'll often snub treats someone offers him, because it doesn't suite his tastes. Somnus is commonly found grooming himself, often brushing out his long tails. Despite his wariness to water, he's one of the cleanest creature's you'll meet.

Somnus picked up some bad habits that often lead him into trouble. Coming from a family of thieves, he often will pocket an object that catches his eyes, yet if confronted will always immediately return the object. He's still coming to terms on how to stop that nasty habit. However, he does use some of his old thief training to play pranks on those he considers a friend.

Edit: He's quite painfully shy when he first meets someone, but once he's come to like the someone he's far more open. In a work situation, he's very serious and can overcome his shyness. Hopefully, it won't be long before he can get over the shyness all together.

History:
Twenty-three years ago, a young nekomata was born to a poor couple, who despite their love was having trouble making ends meet. Their community was kind to the young couple, offering food and other rations, but times were often tough enough without caring for additional people. Eventually, the couple packed up everything they owned and began the long journey to a larger community in hopes of finding jobs. Never would they imagine that along the way they'd be ambushed by thieves. The young couple attempted to give what they owned in exchange for their lives; however the thieves were not interested in leaving witnesses and killed the young lovers. One female heard the soft sounds of an infant crying and found the one treasure amongst the battered goods. Thus Somnus was adopted into his new family.

Somnus grew up in a family unit of nothing but thieves and conmen. The group loved and rewarded those who continually did well in bringing home treasures, while punishing those who frequently failed their quests. Punishments ranged from a stern lecture to the more severe banishment or death. When one is a thief and living off the land and what the family stole, failure was not tolerated. This was more than enough reason for the children to double their efforts at pleasing the adults.

Being an adopted child, the other children would make it more difficult for Somnus to complete his chores and tasks, often resulting in punishments. His adopted mother, Santiel, would always calm him afterwards and use a special herbal salve upon his wounds. Often times, he would request to go with her and learned to identify the plants that could be used to make the salves and potions that healed. These humble steps started him down the road to wanting to become healer.

Years later, after taking yet another painful lashing for a failed heist, he spoke to Santiel of leaving. Having grown to love Somnus as her own child, she tearfully agreed to help him escape the only family he'd known. She lead him through the woods, giving him a satchel filled with healing materials, and pointed him to the direction of a larger town.
At first, he was homeless, living on the streets and using crude methods to produce the salves he knew to sell. Often times, he would end up using the product on those who were injured without asking for coin. Eventually, this led him to have a good reputation, with people coming to him to help heal their pains and wounds. They paid him with coin, food or clothing, causing the young nekomata to be thrilled. He'd finally found acceptance without the fear of pain. Soon enough, a local doctor became interested in the young nekomata and took him under his wing, officially setting Somnus down the road to becoming a full fledge nurse.

- Somnus wears waders over his clothing, to keep water from touching his legs. He despises being wet.
- He's rather shameless about showing some skin. He considers himself a fine specimen of the Nekomata species.
- His favorite food is fish.
- He keeps a toy mouse from when he was a child.
- One of his favorite colors is yellow.
- He doesn't like talking about his childhood and to this day does not know he was adopted.
- His ears were a source of ridicule as a child.
